Puppy Love: Dogs and Engagement Photos

So many couples consider their pets to be part of the family and as a result, more and more of the newly engaged are opting to bring along their furry friends for their engagement photo session.

As a dog owner myself, I love this trend but I could also see it being a bit distracting! If your dog is very well trained, you shouldn't have any problems. However, if your dog isn't very obedient, it might cause you more stress than pleasure to bring them along. You don't want a bunch of shots of you worried about the dog getting away and being pulled along the path.

If you do bring your dog along, I think it is best to give Fido a rest after you get some shots as a group and spend some time taking a few with just the two of you. It is good to have diversity in your pictures! Also, it would probably be a good idea to bring along a friend who can take the dog for a short walk and make sure he/she has plenty of water while you finish up the photos.

Other than that, I say bring your furry friend along! The dog will probably relax you both so you can enjoy the photo session and help the photographer get more candid shots of you both!

Aloha,
Rachael
