Vintage + Hawaii

At first glance, it may be difficult to envision what a vintage Hawaiian wedding would look like but these images prove just how beautiful the concept can be. So, when planning your Hawaiian wedding, don't forget to think outside the typical tropical theme and choose an interpretation with a softer palette and a vintage Hawaii feel.

The Value of Investing in a Wedding Specialist

You will invest a great deal of time, energy, and money into developing all the important elements of your wedding. You need someone to ensure that your investment pays off so that you are not disappointed on the day of your wedding.
A wedding planner is all at once a mediator, a consultant, a fashion director, a sounding board, an organizer, an artisan, and a financial adviser! Most importantly, a wedding planner can provide peace of mind giving you the freedom to relax and enjoy the entire engagement and wedding process to its fullest knowing that you have someone you can count on.
You will need help to identify high quality caterers, floral designers, bakers, and musicians in your area. This can take hours, days, and even months if you try to do it on your own. However, a wedding planner has spent years developing a carefully calculated list of top wedding service providers and can help you quickly identify those that match your needs.
You will also need someone to ensure that those beautiful flowers arrive on time, in the right colors, and stay out of the sun so they look fresh for your ceremony. You’ll need someone to ensure that the cake you so carefully selected is displayed as you had planned and that the attention is directed to you when its time to do the cutting.
The lists goes on…ultimately, without a wedding planner or coordinator, you are likely to spend a great deal more time, effort, and money than if you had hired one and you may not get the results you were looking for. We hate for this happen to anyone and we are ensured time and time again that you will be completely satisfied with your choice to invest in the peace of mind hiring a professional wedding planner can bring!

Beautiful Bride : Katie

Katie is the epitome of natural, effortless beauty and so was her destination wedding in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

Katie and Sepp's love is the kind found in story books; they met in grade school and fell instantly in love. They waited over 10 years before tying the knot and it was well worth the wait. The ceremony took place on a beautiful beach with swaying palm trees and white sands. The turquoise waters matched the beauty of Katie's unique eyes and the bridesmaid's bright dresses.

Here are a few token shots from their wedding. We especially love Katie's vintage inspired bridal portraits taken by Perspectives Photography by Monique Montoya around downtown Galveston, Texas.

Because of her experiences around the world, Rachael can help you plan the details of your destination wedding and give you personal testimony to many desirable locations such as Hawaii, Mexico, Thailand, and many sites throughout Europe.

One of the most notable experiences of her travels is the time she spent in Fort Portal, Uganda assisting women in this remote region by providing them access to business education and founding a business cooperative to connect them to the international market. Her relationship with women artisans around the globe allows her exclusive access to low-cost and socially conscious wedding favor and gift ideas.

Like many young women, Rachael has been surrounded by brides during the last several years and has had a lot of practice consulting with them through their dreaming, designing, and planning processes. From this experience, Rachael has gained an abundance of wedding planning knowledge and eventually discovered her talent for wedding design. Rachael’s passion for vintage wedding planning was further spurred by the planning of her own vintage and spa inspired wedding in the mountains of Northern New Mexico.

Rachael also has a variety of practical experience in the industry. Rachael spent four years planning group events at the University level under the Office of Student Life. She also has experience as a Group Events Consultant for Angel Fire Resort and Country Club, where she has gained detailed insights into the inner workings of developing a successful event.

As an undergraduate Honors student at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, Rachael excelled receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations in 2006. Additionally, Rachael received her Masters Degree in International Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon in 2009. She has also taught financial literacy classes and continues to work with a Certified Financial Planner. These experiences help her create and manage realistic budgets for her brides.  With her strong negotiating skills, outstanding contacts with key vendors, and low-cost creative projects, she can help you get the most for your money.

Today, Rachael lives primarily on the Big Island of Hawaii dedicating herself to her passion for assisting couples around the country in designing their wedding to be one of the most memorable, care-free, and touching days of their lives.
