To begin the discussion on wedding music, what are your selections for the ceremony?  You can elect instrumental or vocal songs to be played: a string quartet, a soloist, a choir, a record, etc.

Some of the most common songs are:

  • "Wedding March" (Mendelssohn)
  • "Ode to Joy" (Beethoven)
  • "The Long and Winding Road" (The Beatles)
  • "Sunshine of My Life" (Stevie Wonder)
  • "From This Moment On" (Cole Porter)
  • and so many more!

Many brides and grooms are also deciding to choose a song from a current artist that captures their relationship in music.  You can either have the record version played or hire someone to play it on the guitar, piano, or another instrument.  Songs can be so effect in putting emotions and feelings into voice.

  1. To add to that, DO NOT forget to ask your wedding officiant which songs are allowed during the ceremony. Some songs are just not appropriate during traditional wedding ceremonies. Have those ones played during the reception instead.

By the way, you have a great list here Vintage and Lace Weddings.
