Best of Weddings - Saying Goodbye to 2011!

2011 was a fantastic year for weddings, love, and for Vintage&Lace! In 2011, Vintage&Lace was registered as an official new business and we launched our Hawaii Weddings website and two new blogs.
As we say goodbye to 2011 and look onward to 2012, we are taking a moment to remember the joys we experienced this last year.

Wedding trends in 2011 emphasized intimacy, personality, rustic glamour, vintage style, eco-friendly options, DIY projects, and more! We saw vintage lace gowns, creative guestbooks, all kinds of props, and loads of bold new color combinations. More couples opted for intimate backyard weddings and personal private homes. Flowers stayed true to the classics (roses, peonies, sunflowers, lilies, etc.) yet we saw new combinations and a rise in ultra creative non-floral bouquets and centerpieces. We also saw more elegant and exciting headpieces and longer more traditional veils, both likely inspired by the Royal Wedding.

And, although we celebrated and congratulated many brides on their wedding day this year, one that really sticks out for Vintage&Lace is the wedding of our co-owner, Rachael to Ben!

Overall, it has been a great year in weddings and we appreciate each of you and all your support!

Happy New Year! 2012 here we come!

It is Christmas week and today we are sharing some great holiday wedding favor ideas for your enjoyment.  So many of these can be slightly adjusted for weddings throughout the year, but are especially great for the holiday season.

♥ Holiday Gem Place Card Holder and Ornament - great idea to use on the tables for name cards as well as for your guests to take home and hang on their tree for many years to come!
from favorsforweddings.blogspot.com
♥ Snowflake Soap - a unique gift that is festive and fun for any guest!

♥ Irish Cream - what is better during the holidays than adding Irish Cream to your coffee?  This is a great gift, also can be done with non-alcoholic cream, that you can personalize by adding your own label.

♥ Peppermint Bark - one of my favorite holiday treats!  I found a DIY project for this holiday favor including the template for the note on the box at The Long Thread!

♥ Tree Samplings - what better way to celebrate a holiday wedding than with favors of Evergreen Tree samplings?  Wrapped in burlap cloth it is not only a visual interest but also a environmentally conscious gift for your guests.

♥ Christmas Wedding Snow Globe - a cute wedding favor that can be a part of your guests' Christmas decor each year.

Winter Weddings with a Touch of Vintage

Winter Vintage can mean so many different things to many different people.  Even within my own mind there are multiple styles and color palettes that can illustrate Winter Vintage.  Today I am sharing with you one of many inspiration selections for adding vintage touches to a winter wedding.

Save-the-Date, Holiday Style

Planning your wedding in the midst of the holiday festivities can be a difficult balancing act.  If you and your fiance are trying to orchestrate save-the-date cards and holiday cards to friends and family, why not combine the two?  There are great design opportunities to keep the save-the-dates in style with your wedding vision in addition to adding a little holiday cheer.  Here are a few:

♥ An easy way to add a save-the-dates to your holiday cards are to take a great picture of you and your fiance (or use one of your engagement photos) and make it a magnet save-the-date!  You can then quickly add the magnet to your holiday card envelope.  The image can portray winter or you can just design it to fit the theme of your wedding.  These examples are just a few fantastic options from  http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/!

You can include these magnets with photo cards that match (just change the name from 'The Idlewilds' to 'The Future Idlewilds' and use a different matching photo)...
from http://www.tinyprints.com/
Or add your magnets with holiday cards that compliment the look and/or color palette.  Here are some great eco-friendly, customizable selections from http://www.peartreegreetings.com/.

♥ You can also just send Christmas photo cards and include information addressing your upcoming wedding.  Look at these options we found on Etsy.com!

Try to have fun and get creative when planning your save-the-dates and remember, save-the-dates should be sent out four to six months before the wedding date.

Contact us at V&L for more ideas on save-the-dates!

Happy Holidays!
